Keeping Your Brain Active

Keeping Your Brain Active
Can’t Sleep:It is 4:00 AM and you can’t sleep. Television is not something that keeps your interest. What can you do to fill the hours until friends are awake or you have something on your schedule to do? Linda Eaton teaches computer classes to Seniors. For more information, please feel free to call (303) 699-2015 or visit the Denver Computer Class - Seniors website.
Who Else Is Awake?Well, guess what? There is a friend that is awake 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is sitting right there on that desk. It happens to be that computer you don’t use. Why don’t you use it? Is it because you don’t know how? Is it because you tried to use it a time or two and found out it was hard to understand what to do? Is it because you don’t think of that piece of equipment as a friend, but rather as an adversary?
Learning to Use a Computer:So what if you could change that arrangement? By learning to use a computer and taking computer classes from someone who comes to you and puts your hands on the keyboard, who helps you understand the basic fundamentals of what all those pictures mean and what those steps are for making a computer work, you can make that computer actually do things you want to do.
Making Friends with Your Computer:Your goal becomes one of taking a computer that seems to be an adversary and turning that piece of equipment into a friend - a friend that keeps you connected to your world; a friend that helps you keep your important data well organized and permanently available; a friend that helps you keep your mind active and engaged.
Using Your Computer Lessons:So now it’s 4:00 AM and you can’t sleep, but after taking some classes and learning how to use a computer, you have options for filling that time. You can visit some websites that host games, word games that help you keep your mind alert; or games that you can play to manage a farm; or card games that help you improve your “mousing” techniques – like Solitaire, or others that take 4 players where the computer supplies the other players – like Hearts. Or you can visit a chat room to see who else is awake and wants to “talk”. With access to the Internet, somewhere in the world, lots of people are awake and interested in connecting with others.
Contact Denver Computer Class – Seniors and we will help you reach that goal of learning how to use a computer. We can be reached at (303) 699-2015 or click the following link: Denver Computer Class for Seniors

Denver PC Tune ups

Does your PC need a tune-up? Denver Computer Class Seniors can help.

What is a PC tune-up?

Just like running our cars, as we use our PC’s we save, delete, and move files around on our hard drives. As we connect to the Internet, we pick up “cookies” or tracking devices that tell organizations what we do on the Internet and how long we stay on their sites. All these activities add to the internal system of our PC’s and slow things down.
